Reflection of Class

Topic: Reflection of Class

I believe that all the blog topics were great. Each week complemented the last week by moving forward with something new that reflected on the past week and the topic could be related to the last week on so on. Each week made me think about what really mater to me with my goals, planning, honesty ect. It was even fun to reflect on some of the other classmates’ postings to see how much the same and really different people took and looked at things.

I believe that each one of the students in this class has advanced as a writer. If it is not from the daily writing assignments that gave each student writing time to self reflect on ones own writing and views/thoughts, blog postings which engaged other students in each students writing, and the essay writing which gave the students a stronger and better understanding of MLA format and college/professional writing. Each student has embraced writing in some way or form as a result of the teachings this year by one form or the other. I found that the blog postings and response made me excel in engaging students with the weekly selected topic and being out right carefully with thought out ides that help me engaged the reader and master checking my writing. The daily writing assignments, I enjoyed the most do to feeling the most comfortable writing.

Now if I had to select one posting over any of the other postings I liked, I would have to say that I liked the first topic “Introductions”. Why well we get to talk about "US" that is why.

To recap my writings;

Essay 1 # Observational Essay (Cultural)
As my observation of a place and culture, I have never been exposed to I decided to go to downtown city of Los Angeles. So it was Saturday at 10am on September 03, 2011, when we jumped on the Metro train at Downtown Riverside station heading to Union Station in the city of Los Angeles. The funny thing is that I have been on mass transit and even a train but never the metrolink. So this was really the start of my journey to search for culture. The destination was chinatown and Olvera Street or some call little Mexico. It was a day of fun.

Essay 2 # Cause and Effect - Relationship influence from Porn
This topic was out of no were just was sitting their in class and said why not.I do have to say I would have never thought that their was so much support and information to show the Pro's and Con's of Porn.

Essay 3 # Mental Culpability of Minor Children (Roper vs Simmons) Death Penalty of Minor's:
With this paper I adventured into mentally capable of minors to being held to standards of an adult when they clearly don’t have the psychological mental capable to determine the same as adults.

Essay 4 (Interview) - I interviewed my friend that served in the Army and he gave me a light on the Pro's and Con's of Army Life. The one easy I did not like was the interview easy. I found it hard to fill four to five pages of the information gathered and wished I had a little more time to prepare for this easy. I was thinking that the interview easy would have been better placed as the second essay rather then the fourth.

Essay #5 Operation Valkrie and the anti-Nazi resistance.
I enjoyed this essay the most and that we got to give a presentation at the end.
Many of us believe that German Citizens, Government Personal, and Military Commanders supported the actions of the Nazi Parties takeover of the government and sanctions that took place that lead to World War II and the killing of many innocent lives. In this essay I cover the truth and facts around what really was taking place with German from 1930's-1945

anyways - I enjoyed the class it was fun, the teacher was great and I wish good luck to you all. Maybe I will see you again.

Pressure (11)

Are you under Pressure ? Have you waited to the last minute to complete your essay ? Is all the work piling up and no time to complete it ? If you answered yes to one of these you got to be under pressure to get things done. Now one may think of pressure as something more. It can be.

Peer pressure is one more thing one can see as pressure. Has anyone ever said, come on just try this, come on just one time or maybe pressured you to go somewhere, do something that you feel pressured to do ? I think at some point we all have been under pressure for something. Peer pressure is; having to move to an environment or place they are not comfortable with.

So I will leave you with this not get pressured in to something you don't want to do ....

Can you take the heat ? you’re a loser, why you do that, you got a F- in the English class ! So is Criticism also bad and/or good ? What is this thing called Criticism? Is it a critical comment or judgment. Yes it is good and bad. Sometimes criticism is the kick in the but you need. Mostly I would say that little thing call criticism is bad. But don’t let it get you down. It’s about humility and your attitude when you come back. Use common Sense, was it real or was that person just a jack ass ?

Have you been the practice of analyzing, classifying, interpreting, or evaluating literary of someone ? Well then you have been criticized. Just like this (example) “Sorry Monica that you’re an republiccan, that’s what’s wrong with you.” Lol. Or even “you suck at baseball “. But to criticize does not necessarily imply to find fault, but to expression of an objection against a disapproval. It can be for your better good.

How do you deal with Criticism ? Assume criticism is logical. It's always best to assume that a person's criticism is sincere. Given the base from which the person is working, the criticism is entirely logical. The key is to understand the base from which people work. Thus, to work with people's criticisms, we must know their deep beliefs, biases, experiences, theological positions, and especially their ego positions. Limit the criticism you'll accept. A leader must know how to limit the criticism he or she accepts. Many times I have let one critical person keep me from recognizing the strength of the hundred who are in agreement. It's possible to turn a cold into a cancer. Don't turn criticism into a personal contest. So often we make criticism into a personal contest, when if left alone, it will die of its own lack of meaning. Learn to lose a battle in order to win a war. Admit when you've been wrong. I try to look on every reasonable criticism as a chance to review my position or better myself.
